How to play Fish Sort Puzzle

1. Fish drift across the top of the screen in bubbles. Tap or click one to send it down.
2. It swims into the tank that matches its kind. Three matching fish fill a tank, clear it and make room for the next set.
3. A fish with no matching tank waits in the holding tray. The tray only has a few slots, so don’t let it fill up.
4. Stuck on a crowded layout? Boosters can get you out of a tight spot.

Tips for clearing more levels

• Look before you tap. Count how many of each fish are on screen and start with the kinds you can finish.
• Tanks that already hold two fish are your best moves: one more tap clears them.
• Treat the tray as an emergency exit, not a parking lot. Try to keep at least two slots free.
• Save boosters for when the tray is nearly full rather than spending them early.

Common mistakes that fill the tray

• Tapping whatever is closest. Fast taps feel good, but every fish without an open tank ends up in the tray. Pick the fish you can finish.
• Starting a new kind while tanks are half full. Two tanks holding two fish each are two easy clears. Finish them before opening a third.
• Forgetting to watch the tray. It is easy to follow the fish and lose track of the slots at the bottom. Glance at it after every tap.
• Spending boosters too early. A booster that rescues a nearly full tray is worth far more than one used while the tray is empty.
• Rushing the last few fish. Near the end of a level the board thins out and it is tempting to speed up. Slow down: with fewer fish left, one careless tap can fill the tray before a tank opens.

Reading a board: a quick walkthrough

Imagine a board with four red fish, three blue and two yellow. The three blue fish are a guaranteed clear, so take them first: three taps, one full tank, and nothing added to the tray. Next come the red fish. Three of them fill a tank; the fourth has to wait, so it is the only fish you send to the tray on purpose. Leave the two yellow fish alone until a third one appears, because tapping them now would only put two more fish in the tray. After this, the tray holds a single fish and every other tank is either empty or cleared. That is the habit that wins harder levels: count first, clear the sure things, and only use the tray when you choose to.
